About Us

Who we are

SMIA, the Slovenian Marine Industry Association, g.i.z., is the national platform that connects companies, institutions and professionals in the nautical industry. Founded in 2016 at the initiative of Slovenian entrepreneurs, today it brings together key stakeholders of the maritime sector – from boat and equipment manufacturing to nautical tourism, logistics, services and institutions.

SMIA aims to become the central organization that connects and represents Slovenia’s marine and nautical industry, promoting it as innovative, sustainable and internationally competitive.

Governance

SMIA operates as an economic interest association (E.I.G.) with a transparent structure:

Assembly – the highest body, including all members
Management Board – collegial body (5 members, 4-year mandate)

Project Director – manages the office and operational programs
